Yuri Kichigin was born in St. Petersburg and graduated from the Admiral Makarov State Maritime Academy, worked in the Baltic Shipping Company, V/O Soyuzvneshtrans (international forwarding company), Swiss company Panalpina. At present he works in WNOG Company. Over the course of his professional career he participated in large Russian oil projects implemented in the early 1990s with credits granted by the World Bank. He arranged numerous deliveries of oil equipment and drill rigs to hard-to-reach locations in Northern Russia, Western and Eastern Siberia. Mr. Kichigin carried out various projects on the fields located in the areas of Tengiz, Aktau and Aktobe in Kazakhstan. He arranged transportation of equipment, supplies and drill rigs on barges to artificial islands in the Caspian Sea as a part of the AGIP project.
Yuri Kichigin graduated from the Swiss IMD business school in Lausanne (Executive MBA), completed management courses in business schools of Europe and the USA, such as INSEAD, IESE, Kellogg, Darden. Yuri Kichigin participated in conferences devoted to various topics related to Russian and international oil and gas industry. In 2009, he was awarded the medal of the All-Russian Project for "Efficient Personnel Management".
